Parks, Recreation & Community
Accelerating recreation projects that bring people together and support active living for all ages.
- Increase the annual delivery of park amenities such as public washrooms, splash pads, picnic shelters, and picnic areas.
- Develop a bold long-term vision for Abbotsford’s ice needs that goes beyond short-term solutions and explores partnerships and innovative opportunities to deliver the capacity our growing community needs.
- Ensure the new MSA Aquatic Centre meets the needs of user groups and provides amenities that support long-term success and broad community use.
- Advance plans to address urgent community needs for ball parks, sport courts, and fields, with a focus on timely action and delivering the facilities our community needs.
- Explore partnerships to establish an annual Christmas light attraction in Abbotsford.
- Accelerate priority projects identified in the Mill Lake Master Plan, including a permanent outdoor stage.

Supporting Local Business
Championing local businesses, encouraging investment, and fostering a City Hall culture that is responsive, collaborative and easy to work with.
- Review how Abbotsford delivers economic development services and explore new models, including an independent economic development agency, to better support local businesses, attract investment, and create economic opportunities.
- Keep business taxes and municipal fees competitive.
- Review and modernize event permitting processes to make it easier and more efficient to host festivals, community events, and celebrations.

Building a Better Abbotsford
Creating a more efficient and predictable development process while ensuring new housing strengthens the character and livability of Abbotsford's neighbourhoods.
- Accelerate implementation of development review recommendations to streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary delays, provide greater certainty, efficiency, and transparency.
- Prioritize thoughtful growth that balances affordability, livability, and community character.
- Improve customer service and responsiveness at City Hall by making it easier for residents and businesses to get answers, access services, and navigate City processes.

Protecting Agriculture
Supporting farmers, protecting farmland, and preserving Abbotsford's agricultural heritage.
- Be a strong voice for Abbotsford’s farmers by advocating for provincial and federal investment in critical flood mitigation infrastructure and working with the community on practical short-term solutions while long-term projects move forward.
- Support policies that strengthen the long-term viability and sustainability of farming.
- Recognize agriculture as a key driver of our local economy, culture and community character.

Delivering the Basics
Focusing on the services residents rely on every day, including roads, sidewalks, transportation, and essential infrastructure.
- Launch a comprehensive Roads and Transportation Review to identify priorities and areas of concern.
- Increase annual sidewalk maintenance programs, road repairs and snow removal budgets.
- Advocate for increased provincial investment in public transit improvements and service expansion.

Every Voice Matters
Building a City Hall that is transparent, accessible, listens to residents, and earns the trust of the community.
- Introduce a monthly Open Mic opportunity at Council meetings.
- Build stronger relationships across our community by creating an open, safe, and approachable City Hall where people feel welcome to share their perspectives and confident their voices will be heard.
- Strengthen public engagement by ensuring residents are heard early in the decision-making process and have meaningful opportunities to provide feedback that helps shape decisions.
